The Florida Standards Assessment (FSA) Portal is  for districts, schools, students, parents and the general public to access information about the 2015 state assessments.

8th Grade: Choose one: Divergent by Veronica Roth; The Maze Runner by James Dasher; The Rithmatist by Brandon Sanderson; Wonder by R. J. Palacio

Please note:
The books marked with an asterick (*) are fictional novels about dystopian societies and contain some violence. We encourage parents to preview the books with their children before making a decision.
Wonder by R. J. Palacio was recently added to the list for all grade levels. The assignments have not been updated to include this novel. If you choose to read this book, please follow the instructions for your grade but focus on how August faces adversity.

Sunshine State Challenge

Jackson Heights also has a year long competition called the Sunshine State Challenge. Any student who reads all 15 of the new Sunshine State Middle School books, and completes the SWBS form for each book, will be recognized at the award ceremony in May. It is encouraged to start reading these books over the summer. Click here for details.
